Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is the OCR? ▼
Accuracy depends on image quality. Clear, high-resolution images with good contrast work best. Typed text is recognized better than handwriting.
Can it read handwriting? ▼
Tesseract.js works best with printed/typed text. Neat handwriting may work, but cursive or messy handwriting is unreliable.
Why does the first scan take longer? ▼
The OCR engine and language data (~15 MB for English) need to download once. After that, they're cached and subsequent scans are faster.
