YouTube Image Sizes (2025)
| Asset Type | Recommended Size | Aspect Ratio | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Video thumbnail | 1280×720px | 16:9 | Max 2MB; JPG/PNG/GIF/WebP |
| Channel profile photo | 800×800px | 1:1 (circle) | Displays at various sizes |

| Video end screen | 1920×1080px | 16:9 | 16:9 to match video |
YouTube channel banners are one of the trickiest assets to design because they are displayed at dramatically different sizes and crops on TV (the full 2560×1440px), desktop (cropped to approximately 2560×423px), and mobile (the small circular channel icon). YouTube provides a template showing the safe zones — always design within the central safe area to ensure your key content is visible everywhere.
TikTok and Pinterest (2025)
| Platform / Type | Recommended Size | Aspect Ratio |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok video | 1080×1920px | 9:16 |
| TikTok profile photo | 200×200px | 1:1 (circle) |
| TikTok photo post (carousel) | 1080×1920px | 9:16 |
| Pinterest pin (standard) | 1000×1500px | 2:3 |
| Pinterest pin (square) | 1000×1000px | 1:1 |
| Pinterest profile photo | 165×165px | 1:1 (circle) |
| Pinterest board cover | 800×450px | 16:9 |
Pinterest is a visually driven platform where tall, portrait-format pins perform best. The recommended 2:3 ratio (1000×1500px) fills more vertical screen space in the Pinterest feed, which increases click-through rates compared to square or landscape pins. For text overlay on pins, keep text in the middle third of the image to avoid the URL overlay at the bottom.
