SaaSGrid (now Grid)
SaaS metrics, billing, and planning from the team that built Craft Ventures' internal dashboard.
About SaaSGrid (now Grid)
Ethan Ruby wrote the first version of SaaSGrid inside Craft Ventures, as an internal tool for computing SaaS metrics on prospective investments — then noticed founders kept using the free tool daily to watch their own businesses. He spun it out with his brother Teddy Ruby (previously at Affirm), launched publicly in September 2023 with a $3.3 million seed led by Craft — whose general partner David Sacks is a co-founder — and has since rebranded the company to Grid, with saasgrid.com now redirecting to withgrid.com. The scope has widened from metrics dashboard to finance platform with three legs: Reporting auto-calculates roughly 70 standard metrics — ARR, MRR, net dollar retention, churn, CAC payback — from CRM, billing, and accounting data; Billing covers automated invoicing, contract generation, and payment collection synced back to the ERP; Planning handles AI-assisted revenue forecasting and budget-to-actuals monitoring. Companies under $1M ARR get the Starter plan free, with Stripe, QuickBooks, Xero, and spreadsheet connections plus unlimited dashboard viewers; Growth is quote-only and unlocks Salesforce, HubSpot, NetSuite, and Sage Intacct integrations, bookings-and-billings reconciliation, and guided onboarding. Grid puts its ARR under management above $4 billion.
