Superwall
Free subscription infrastructure with paywall experimentation billed at 1% of attributed revenue.
About Superwall
One statistic organizes everything Superwall does: across 40M+ measured paywall opens, multi-page paywalls convert 37% better than single-page ones. Acting on findings like that means shipping paywall changes constantly, so the core product is a no-code editor that publishes new designs instantly — no app release, no waiting — plus A/B/n testing across layout, pricing, and offers. A single web-standards runtime renders paywalls on iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter, Expo, Unity, Capacitor, and the web, with Kotlin Multiplatform and a community Capacitor plugin covered in the docs, and the SDKs are open source on GitHub.
The pricing carves the platform in two. Subscription infrastructure — server-computed entitlements synced from App Store Server Notifications V2 and Google Real-Time Developer Notifications, purchase APIs with receipt validation, webhooks standardized across App Store, Play Store, and Stripe, and revenue analytics with row-level-security SQL access over ClickHouse — is free at any scale, with no revenue threshold and no per-event fees; the analytics track MRR, ARR, churn, and LTV by cohort, with revenue attributed back to the paywall that converted it. Only the paywall product is metered: free up to $10,000 a month in paywall-attributed revenue, then 1% of what the paywalls actually convert. Subscriptions arriving from any other source are never billed, and imported subscribers incur no charges, which keeps the math easy to model — the vendor's own worked example is $50K of monthly revenue with half converting through Superwall paywalls, costing $250 a month. Integrations cover Firebase, Amplitude, Mixpanel, PostHog, Adjust, Customer.io, OneSignal, and Stripe. Superwall came out of Y Combinator's Summer 2021 batch, founded that year by Jake Mor and Brian Anglin, and runs a team of roughly 25 out of New York City.
